My Birthday
My birthday falls on 7th July every year. That is the day I eagerly await for which makes me birthday boy.
Naturally, I invite all my friends to celebrate it. My mother orders a big birthday cake from a bakery shop. Then she and other members of the family decorate our drawing room with festoons, buntings and balloons for the party.
I rush to neighbourhood friends to remind them of the party. In the evening at around 7 p.m. boys and girls with presents converge on my house. On the centre table ‘Happy Birthday’ cake is set with candles lit up. I blow out the candles as all sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me and clap hands. I cut the cake and put a piece in my mom’s mouth. She puts a piece in my mouth and the cake is shared out to all.
Then follows some dancing, party games, lot of chatting as mom serves us more treats with soft drinks until the break up time.
