Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa was a real life angel. She spent her entire life in taking care of the poor, sick, orphans, helpless and abandoned.
Her real name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. She was born on August 26, 1910 at Scopje, Yugoslavia to a contractor father.
At a very early stage Agnes decided to put her life to the service of the helpless people. She had heard about the pitiable condition of the sick, orphans and uncared people of Kolkata.
She learnt English and landed in India in December 1, 1928 at the age of 18 years. For ten years she served as sister and mother in a Convent school of Kolkata. Then at the age of 38 years Mother Teresa founded her own mission ‘Sisters of Charity’ and began her social service.
She took care of sick people, lepers, orphans, abandoned and helpless with such spirit that the world was amazed. Her work won her Nobel Prize. This messiah of poor and helpless died on September 5, 1997.
