Nils I Bohlin coloring page
Nils I Bohlin was born in Sweden on 17 July, 1920. He was a very famous Sweden inventor well known for inventing three-point seat belts. He came up with this idea while he was working at Volvo. He had his diploma degree as a mechanical engineer from Harnosand Laroverk in 1939. He first worked as an aircraft maker Saab where he developed ejection seats. He later joined Volvo as safety manager in 1958, where he got the scope of exploring his talent of inventing safety belts.
These safety belts are a landmark in the invention world which prevent injuries during a car crash. The seat belt is estimated to save about 11,000 lives each year in the USA alone. These seat belts are also used in buses, aeroplanes and other sports cars. Bohlin was awarded the 'Ralph Isbrandt Automotive Safety Engineering' in the year 1989 for his outstanding invention, which also earned him immense popularity. He died on 26 September, 2002.
