The Son of a pot
“Could you please lend me a pot for storing milk?” a woman asked her neighbour.
Her neighbour gladly gave a pot to the woman. The woman returned the pot next morning, together with a very small pot, and said, “Look! Your pot bore a cute son at night.” Her neighbour was extremely happy to have the son of his pot.
After some time the woman again borrowed the pot. But when she failed to return the pot this time, her neighbour asked for it. The woman with a sad face said, “Your pot is dead.”
“What nonsense! How can a pot die?”
“Why not?” the woman shot back said, “If a pot can give birth to a son, it can die also. If it were impossible why didn’t you put any questions, the day I gave you the son of your pot?”
Moral : A stupid claim can be a clever trap.
